The University Phoenix routed the host Shabazz Bulldogs softball squad by a final score of 23-7 in Thursday's league battle.

The Phoenix (2-4) will now prepare for their battle against Barringer (Newark, NJ). The Blue Bears come into the non-league contest with a 3-6 record. In their last contest, Barringer was routed by Belleville (Belleville, NJ), 17-1, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bulldogs play the Orange Tornadoes (Orange, NJ) in a non-league contest, on Monday, April 29. Shabazz will attempt to move on its 0-6 season record. The Tornadoes come into the contest with a 0-6 record after their 19-0 non-league loss to Montclair Kimberley Academy (Montclair, NJ).
