The crowd at Monday's league match between the University Phoenix (Newark, NJ) and the host Shabazz Bulldogs (Newark, NJ), saw University's softball squad achieve victory over Shabazz by a count of 24-9.

The Phoenix now sport a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Barringer for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 21. University will face a Blue Bears squad coming off a 21-11 league win over Orange (Orange, NJ). The Blue Bears record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Shabazz falls to 2-12 on the campaign.
