North Carolina High School Baseball - Ashley sneaks past New Hanover

Spectators at Friday's league battle between the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) and the host New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC), saw Ashley's baseball squad edge New Hanover by a count of 6-5.

Coming up next, the Screaming Eagle play the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A battle, on Tuesday, April 30. Ashley will attempt to move on its 18-3 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 11-8 record after their 1-0 league win over Hoggard (Wilmington, NC).

The Wildcats now possess a 10-12 record. They take the field next when they host Laney for a Mideastern 3A/4A battle on Tuesday, April 30. New Hanover will play a Buccaneers squad coming off a 5-3 league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 8-11.
