In Saturday's league battle, the host Monticello Sages soccer squad scored a close 6-0 win over the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts.
The Sages (19-2) will now prepare for their battle against Urbana University (Urbana, IL). The Illineks go into the non-league battle with a 5-12 record. In their last battle, Urbana University was overwhelmed by Arthur-Okaw Christian (Arthur, IL), 4-3, in a league battle.
The Grey Ghosts (1-15) will now prepare for their battle against Olympia (Stanford, IL). The Spartans go into the non-league battle with a 9-8 record. In their last battle, Olympia nipped Unity Christian (Decatur, IL), 3-0, in a non-league battle.
