The Cheyenne Desert Shields got by the visiting Western Warriors softball squad by a count of 19-18 in Thursday's league battle.

The Desert Shields (5-9) will now prepare for their battle against Southeast Career Tech (Las Vegas, NV). The Roadrunners go into the 4A Mountain battle with a 11-4 record. In their last battle, Southeast Career Tech nudged Bonanza (Las Vegas, NV), 16-0, in a league battle.

The Warriors now sport a 1-12 record. They play next when they host Las Vegas for a 4A Mountain battle on Monday, May 2. Western will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 15-0 league loss to Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-8.
