Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Earlville Red Raiders (Earlville, IL), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Norsemen now own a 20-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Serena for a Little Ten challenge on Monday, May 2. Newark will battle a Huskers squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Marquette (Ottawa, IL). The Huskers record now stands at 14-4.

With the loss, Earlville falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Henry-Senachwine (Henry, IL) to battle the Mallards in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. The Mallards enter the challenge with a record of 6-12. Henry-Senachwine lost 16-6 in their recent league challenge against Putnam County (Granville, IL)
