Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they host Steeleville for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. Trico will face a Warriors squad coming off a 12-9 league loss to Valmeyer (Valmeyer, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Goreville falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Blackcats travel to Vienna (Vienna, IL) to face the Eagles in a Black Diamond West challenge on Saturday, April 30. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 7-10. Vienna lost 5-3 in their recent league challenge against Johnston City (Johnston City, IL)
