The Topsail Pirates the visiting Laney Buccaneers soccer squad by a margin of 4-1 in Friday's league match.

The Pirates now sport a 11-5 record. They play next when they travel to South Brunswick for a Mideastern 3A/4A match on Tuesday, May 2. Topsail will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 1-0 league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 5-8.

With the loss, Laney drops to 11-6 on the season. The Buccaneers host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to encounter the Screaming Eagle in a Mideastern 3A/4A match on Tuesday, May 2. The Screaming Eagle come into the match with a record of 16-1. Ashley won 9-0 in their recent league match against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)
