Rhode Island High School Softball - Ponaganset topped by Smithfield

Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI), 15-4 in a league game.

With the triumph, Smithfield upgrades its record to 6-2 on the year. The Sentinels travel to Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI) to play the Chargers in a Division 1 game on Wednesday, April 30. The Chargers enter the game with a record of 6-4. Chariho won 8-3 in their recent league game against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI)

The Chieftains now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they travel to St. Raphael Academy for a non-league game on Wednesday, April 30. Ponaganset will play a Saints squad coming off a 8-2 league win over South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI). The Saints record now stands at 6-1.
