Rhode Island High School Softball - Smithfield bounces Ponaganset

May 14, 2025: North Scituate, RI 02857

In Wednesday's league match, the visiting Smithfield Sentinels softball team scored a nice 14-6 victory over the Ponaganset Chieftains.

The Sentinels (9-5) will now prepare for their match against St. Mary Academy-Bay View (East Providence, RI). The Bengals go into the Division 1 match with a 1-11 record. In their last match, St. Mary Academy-Bay View was routed by Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI), 19-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Chieftains battle the Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) in a Division 1 match, on Friday, May 16. Ponaganset will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record. The Chargers go into the match with a 11-5 record after their 19-0 league win over St. Mary Academy-Bay View (East Providence, RI).
