The Cumberland Clippers (Cumberland, RI) softball nipped the visiting Cranston West Falcons (Cranston, RI), 9-8 in Friday's league bout.

The Clippers (4-7) will now prepare for their bout against Burrillville (Harrisville, RI). The Broncos go into the State Championship Division - North bout with a 4-5 record. In their last bout, Burrillville held off Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI), 13-6, in a non-league bout.

The Falcons now possess a 5-5 record. They play next when they host Westerly for a non-league bout on Saturday, April 30. Cranston West will confront a Bulldogs squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Barrington (Barrington, RI). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-2.
