Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, IL), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 13-8 record. They take the field next when they host DuQuoin for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6.

With the loss, Chester falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL) to battle the Red Devils in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 13-10. Murphysboro won 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL)
