Pontiac Indians (Pontiac, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Moline Maroons (Moline, IL), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 15-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bloomington Central Catholic for a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, May 1. Pontiac will face a Saints squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Monticello (Monticello, IL). The Saints record now stands at 13-10.

With the loss, Moline falls to 7-10 on the campaign. The Maroons host Sterling (Sterling, IL) to face the Golden Warriors in a Western Big 6 challenge on Monday, May 1. The Golden Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 15-4. Sterling won 5-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL)
