Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) backers left the game pleased Tuesday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), 17-2 in a league game.

With the triumph, Navajo Prep upgrades its record to 16-5 on the year. The Eagles travel to Zuni (Zuni, NM) to play the Thunderbirds in a 3A District 1 bout on Thursday, May 1. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 5-16. Zuni won 14-12 in their recent league bout against Newcomb (Newcomb, NM)

In their next game, the Hawks battle the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Thursday, May 1. Thoreau will attempt to advance on its 8-15 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 12-11 league loss to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM).
