In Tuesday's league match, the host Providence Catholic Celtics softball team scored a tight 4-3 victory over the St. Laurence Vikings.

The Celtics (12-6) will now prepare for their match against Fenwick (Oak Park, IL). The Friars go into the GCAC- Red match with a 7-4 record. In their last match, Fenwick tipped Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL), 6-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Montini Catholic Broncos (Lombard, IL) in a GCAC- Red match, on Thursday, May 1. St. Laurence will attempt to better on its 12-4 season record. The Broncos go into the match with a 13-10 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Saint Viator (Arlington Heights, IL).
