The Columbia Eagles routed the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds softball squad by a final score of 9-4 in Monday's non-league battle.

The Eagles (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Cougars go into the Cahokia - Mississippi battle with a 3-5 record. In their last battle, Breese Central got by Okawville (Okawville, IL), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

With the loss, Southwestern falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Piasa birds host North Greene (White Hall, IL) to battle the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. North Greene lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Pleasant Hill (Pleasant Hill, IL)
