Pulaski County Cougars (Dublin, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Hidden Valley for a River Ridge challenge on Thursday, April 6. Pulaski County will face a Titans squad coming off a 13-8 league win over Salem (Salem, VA). The Titans record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, George Wythe falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA) to face the Bears in a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Bland County lost 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA)
