The Ashe County Huskies baseball team scored 10 runs and held the visiting West Wilkes Blackhawks to 0 in the Huskies non-league win on Thursday.

The Huskies now hold a 9-7 record. They take the field next when they host Alexander Central for a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, April 4. Ashe County will play a Cougars team coming off a 10-4 non-league win over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 9-6.

With the defeat, West Wilkes drops to 7-8 on the year. The Blackhawks host Surry Central (Dobson, NC) to play the Golden Eagles in a Foothills 2A test on Friday, April 4. The Golden Eagles go into the test with a record of 11-4. Surry Central lost 12-2 in their recent league test against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC)
