Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) supporters left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Bloomfield Bobcats (Bloomfield, NM), 19-18 in a league game.

With the triumph, Shiprock improves its record to 6-8 on the year. The Chieftains host Aztec (Aztec, NM) to play the Tigers in a 4A District 1 game on Tuesday, April 8. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 9-10. Aztec won 11-1 in their recent league game against Miyamura (Gallup, NM)

The Bobcats now hold a 3-11 record. They play next when they travel to Albuquerque Academy for a non-league game on Saturday, April 5. Bloomfield will play a Chargers squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Valley (Albuquerque, NM). The Chargers record now stands at 7-7.
