The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Pickens Academy Pirates (Carrollton, AL) and the visiting Pickens County Tornadoes (Reform, AL), observed Pickens Academy's softball team get by Pickens County by a tally of 7-2.

The Pirates (5-7) will now prepare for their bout against Holy Spirit Catholic (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Saints go into the 1A Area 9 bout with a 6-12 record. In their last bout, Holy Spirit Catholic was routed by Sweet Water (Sweet Water, AL), 17-2, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Tornadoes clash with the Aliceville Yellowjackets (Aliceville, AL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 7. Pickens County will attempt to advance on its 7-6 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 9-1 non-league loss to Holt (Holt, AL).
