Metea Valley Mustangs (Aurora, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting DeKalb Barbs (DeKalb, IL), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Waubonsie Valley for a DuPage Valley challenge on Thursday, May 2. Metea Valley will face a Warriors squad coming off a 10-5 league loss to Naperville Central (Naperville, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 11-13.

With the loss, DeKalb falls to 4-15 on the campaign. The Barbs travel to Neuqua Valley (Naperville, IL) to face the Wildcats in a DuPage Valley challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 9-12. Neuqua Valley won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Naperville North (Naperville, IL)
