The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC) and the visiting Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC), saw Union's softball squad achieve victory over Lakewood by a count of 11-1.

The Spartans now sport a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rosewood for a Carolina 1A match on Tuesday, April 18. Union will face a Eagles squad coming off a 12-8 league win over Hobbton (Newton Grove, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Lakewood falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Leopards host North Duplin (Calypso, NC) to face the Rebels in a Carolina 1A match on Tuesday, April 18. The Rebels enter the match with a record of 9-2. North Duplin lost 8-4 in their recent non-league match against East Duplin (Beulaville, NC)
