Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Elkhart Elks (Elkhart, TX), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 27-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Groesbeck for a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Franklin will battle a Goats squad coming off a 8-5 league win over Buffalo (Buffalo, TX). The Goats record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Elkhart falls to 14-14 on the campaign. The Elks travel to Mexia (Mexia, TX) to battle the Black Cats in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Black Cats enter the challenge with a record of 0-14. Mexia lost 24-0 in their recent league challenge against Franklin (Franklin, TX)
