Lake Creek Lions (Montgomery, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Magnolia West Mustangs (Magnolia, TX), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 24-6 record. They take the field next when they host Brenham for a 5A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Lake Creek will battle a Cubs squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Rudder (Bryan, TX). The Cubs record now stands at 16-12.

With the loss, Magnolia West falls to 17-14 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Montgomery (Montgomery, TX) to battle the Bears in a 5A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 3-12. Montgomery lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against College Station (College Station, TX)
