Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host Hope Christian for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 8. Miyamura will clash with a Huskies team coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM). The Huskies record now stands at 4-9.

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) in a 4A District 1 game, on Tuesday, April 11. Aztec will attempt to move on its 7-9 season record. The Chieftains come into the game with a 4-8 record after their 12-0 league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM).
