In Thursday's league contest, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) softball team held off the visiting Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC), by a margin of 8-7.
With the triumph, North Stanly moves its record to 10-7 on the year. The Comets travel to West Davidson (Lexington, NC) to play the Dragons in a non-league contest on Thursday, April 20. The Dragons come into the contest with a record of 10-5.
In their next game, the Tigers play the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A contest, on Tuesday, April 18. Mount Pleasant will attempt to move on its 9-5 season record.
