East Newton Patriots (Granby, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host College Heights Christian Cougars (Joplin, MO), 11-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marionville for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. East Newton will battle a Comets squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Verona (Verona, MO). The Comets record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, College Heights Christian falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Jasper (Jasper, MO) to battle the Eagles in a Class 1 District 6 challenge on Monday, April 8. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Jasper won 11-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Osceola (Osceola, MO)
