North Carolina High School Softball - South View holds off Lumberton

April 8, 2022: Hope Mills, NC 28348

South View Tigers (Hope Mills, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host Purnell Swett for a United Eight 3A/4A challenge on Monday, April 11. South View will battle a Rams squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC). The Rams record now stands at 12-2.

With the loss, Lumberton falls to 10-5 on the campaign. The Pirates host Fairmont (Fairmont, NC) to battle the Golden Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. The Golden Tornadoes enter the challenge with a record of 3-8. Fairmont won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC)
