The Vel Phillips Memorial Spartans softball team scored 20 runs and limited the visiting Verona Wildcats to 10 in the Spartans league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Vel Phillips Memorial moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Spartans travel to Janesville Craig (Janesville, WI) to clash with the Cougars in a game on Thursday, April 11. The Cougars come into the game with a record of 0-0.

In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the Madison La Follette Lancers (Madison, WI) in a non-league game, on Friday, April 12. Verona will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
