The Verona Wildcats softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Vel Phillips Memorial Spartans to 9 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Verona improves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Wildcats host Middleton (Middleton, WI) to clash with the Cardinals in a non-league game on Monday, May 6. The Cardinals come into the game with a record of 1-1.

In their next game, the Spartans clash with the Madison La Follette Lancers (Madison, WI) in a game, on Monday, May 6. Vel Phillips Memorial will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record.
