Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA), 20-2 in a league test.

With the win, Eastside upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Spartans host Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA) to battle the Eagles in a Cumberland test on Thursday, May 4. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 3-6. Rye Cove won 8-5 in their recent league test against Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA)

With the defeat, J.I. Burton falls to 5-6 on the season. The Black raiders travel to Castlewood (Castlewood, VA) to battle the Blue Devils in a Cumberland test on Tuesday, May 2. The Blue Devils come into the test with a record of 6-3. Castlewood lost 8-5 in their recent league test against Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA)
