In Wednesday's non-league test, the host Essex Hornets lacrosse squad scored a tight 12-8 victory over the Rice Memorial Green Knights.
The Hornets now have a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Middlebury for a Division I test on Saturday, May 4. Essex will face a Tigers squad coming off a 12-11 league win over South Burlington (South Burlington, VT). The Tigers record now stands at 4-1.
In their next game, the Green Knights face the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT) in a non-league test, on Friday, May 3. Rice Memorial will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record.
