North Carolina High School Softball - East Wilkes gets by Starmount

Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) and the visiting Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC), witnessed East Wilkes's softball squad tip Starmount by a count of 6-5.

The Cardinals now sport a 20-3 record. They play next when they host Elkin for a Northwest 1A match on Thursday, May 2. East Wilkes will face a Buckin' Elks squad coming off a 9-7 league win over South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 16-6.

With the loss, Starmount moves to 12-11 on the season.
