The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the La Porte Slicers (La Porte, IN) and the host Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), saw La Porte's softball squad achieve victory over Merrillville by a count of 14-0.

The Slicers now sport a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hebron for a non-league match on Monday, May 6. La Porte will face a Hawks squad coming off a 5-0 league win over South Central (Union Mills, IN). The Hawks record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Merrillville falls to 0-16 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Michigan City (Michigan City, IN) to face the Wolves in a Duneland match on Tuesday, May 7. The Wolves enter the match with a record of 4-14.
