Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM), 16-15 in a league challenge.

The Bears now sport a 10-11 record. They take the field next when they host Tohatchi for a 3A District 1 challenge on Wednesday, May 1. Wingate will face a Cougars squad coming off a 17-4 league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, Tohatchi falls to 7-13 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM) to face the Bears in a 3A District 1 challenge on Wednesday, May 1. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 9-10. Wingate won 11-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Northwest (Shiprock, NM)
