Rhode Island High School Baseball - North Providence nips Chariho

In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting North Providence Cougars baseball team scored a close 8-7 win over the Chariho Chargers.

The Cougars (10-1) will now prepare for their game against Smithfield (Esmond, RI). The Sentinels go into the non-league game with a 7-4 record. In their last game, Smithfield nudged Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI), 10-4, in a league game.

Next, the Chargers play the Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) in a Division 2 game, on Monday, May 5. Chariho will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Crusaders go into the game with a 5-8 record after their 7-4 league loss to East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI).
