The Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA) softball nipped the visiting Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA), 6-5 in Thursday's league outing.

The Knights now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Amherst County for a non-league outing on Monday, May 5. Buckingham will encounter a Lancers team coming off a 10-3 non-league win over Broadway (Broadway, VA). The Lancers record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Lunenburg Central moves to 8-1 on the season. The Chargers host Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA) to encounter the Eagles in a James River outing on Tuesday, May 6. The Eagles come into the outing with a record of 0-6. Prince Edward County lost 14-1 in their recent league outing against Cumberland (Cumberland, VA)
