The Lunenburg Central Chargers edged the visiting Buckingham Knights softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Monday's league challenge.
Next, the Chargers meet the Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) in a James River challenge, on Tuesday, May 20. Lunenburg Central will attempt to upgrade on its 14-1 season record. The Raiders enter the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 19-1 non-league win over L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA).
The Knights (9-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Cumberland (Cumberland, VA). The Dukes enter the James River challenge with a 2-13 record. In their last challenge, Cumberland was nudged by Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA), 2-0, in a league challenge.
