Chestnut Ridge Lions (New Paris, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Penn Cambria Panthers (Cresson, PA), 10-4 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Westmont Hilltop for a Laurel Highlands 1 challenge on Tuesday, May 16. Chestnut Ridge will face a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 13-3 league win over Bedford (Bedford, PA). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 10-5.

With the loss, Penn Cambria falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Panthers host Forest Hills (Sidman, PA) to face the Rangers in a Laurel Highlands 1 challenge on Friday, May 12. The Rangers enter the challenge with a record of 7-2.
