The Nelson County Governors softball team scored 6 runs and limited the visiting Gretna Hawks to 0 in the Governors league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Nelson County improves its record to 10-7 on the year. The Governors travel to Chatham (Chatham, VA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a Dogwood game on Tuesday, May 16. The Cavaliers come into the game with a record of 10-5. Chatham won 5-1 in their recent league game against Altavista (Altavista, VA)

In their next game, the Hawks clash with the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) in a Dogwood game, on Monday, May 15. Gretna will attempt to improve on its 3-13 season record. The Wildcats come into the game with a 6-11 record after their 9-1 league win over William Campbell (Naruna, VA).
