The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI) and the visiting Narragansett Mariners (Narragansett, RI), saw Johnston's softball squad nip Narragansett by a count of 6-1.

The Panthers now sport a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Kingstown for a Division 2 match on Wednesday, May 15. Johnston will face a Rebels squad coming off a 18-5 league loss to Westerly (Westerly, RI). The Rebels record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Narragansett falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Mariners host Scituate (North Scituate, RI) to face the Spartans in a Division 2 match on Wednesday, May 15. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 6-3. Scituate won 5-3 in their recent league match against Woonsocket (Woonsocket, RI)
