Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the Gilford Golden Eagles (Gilford, NH) and the visiting Belmont Red Raiders (Belmont, NH), witnessed Gilford's softball squad tip Belmont by a count of 8-5.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 12-2 record. They play next when they travel to White Mountains for a Division III match on Thursday, May 16. Gilford will face a Spartans squad coming off a 10-8 league win over Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH). The Spartans record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Belmont falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Mascoma (Canaan, NH) to face the Royals in a Division III challenge on Thursday, May 16. The Royals enter the challenge with a record of 1-11. Mascoma lost 21-4 in their recent league challenge against Newport (Newport, NH)
