Charlestown Pirates (Charlestown, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, IN), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Pirates now own a 15-7 record. They take the field next when they host Brownstown Central for a Mid-Southern challenge on Tuesday, May 17. Charlestown will battle a Braves squad coming off a 10-1 non-league win over Paoli (Paoli, IN). The Braves record now stands at 13-11.
With the loss, New Albany falls to 13-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Corydon Central (Corydon, IN) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 18-8.
