Newport Tigers (Newport, NH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Sunapee Lakers (Sunapee, NH), 21-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 15-0 record. They take the field next when they host Hillsboro-Deering for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. Newport will battle a Hillcats squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Fall Mountain (Langdon, NH). The Hillcats record now stands at 3-10.

With the loss, Sunapee falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Lakers host Nute (Milton, NH) to battle the Rams in a Division IV challenge on Saturday, May 18. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 2-11. Nute lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Pittsfield (Pittsfield, NH)
