The Newport Tigers softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Sunapee Lakers to 1 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Newport moves its record to 7-0 on the year. The Tigers host Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH) to clash with the Cougars in a Division III game on Saturday, May 4. The Cougars come into the game with a record of 2-4. Kearsarge lost 28-8 in their recent league game against Conant (Jaffrey, NH)

In their next game, the Lakers clash with the Pittsfield Panthers (Pittsfield, NH) in a Division IV game, on Monday, May 6. Sunapee will attempt to move on its 1-6 season record.
