Rutherford Bulldogs (Rutherford, NJ) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Secaucus Patriots (Secaucus, NJ), 8-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Rutherford upgrades its record to 15-6 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Hawthorne (Hawthorne, NJ) to play the Bears in a non-league game on Saturday, May 17. The Bears enter the game with a record of 12-8. Hawthorne won 20-0 in their recent league game against Manchester Regional (Haledon, NJ)

The Patriots now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they travel to Lyndhurst for a NJIC - National game on Monday, May 19. Secaucus will play a Golden Bears squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over St. Dominic Academy (Jersey City, NJ). The Golden Bears record now stands at 8-13.
