Portage Indians (Portage, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), 21-0 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 10-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Highland for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. Portage will face a Trojans squad coming off a 4-2 league loss to Hobart (Hobart, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 9-11.

With the loss, Merrillville falls to 0-19 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Lake Central (St. John, IN) to face the Indians in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 24. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 21-6. Lake Central won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Hanover Central (Cedar Lake, IN)
