Maine Central Institute Huskies (Pittsfield, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mount View Mustangs (Thorndike, ME), 11-4 in a league challenge.
The Huskies now own a 3-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to John Bapst Memorial for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 24. Maine Central Institute will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 9-8 league win over Hermon (Hermon, ME). The Crusaders record now stands at 7-6.
With the loss, Mount View falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Old Orchard Beach (Old Orchard Beach, ME) to battle the Seagulls in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 21. The Seagulls enter the challenge with a record of 2-10. Old Orchard Beach lost 10-2 in their recent league challenge against Sacopee Valley (Cornish, ME)
