The Athens Red Hawks baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the host Dow Chargers to 1 in the Red Hawks non-league victory on Saturday.

The Red Hawks (22-5) will now prepare for their match against Dow (Midland, MI). The Chargers go into the non-league challenge with a 9-10 record. In their last challenge, Dow was overwhelmed by Bay City Western (Auburn, MI), 7-4, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Dow falls to 9-11 on the season. The Chargers host Athens (Troy, MI) to battle the Red Hawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 18. The Red Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 21-5. Athens won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Avondale (Auburn Hills, MI)
