The Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL) softball routed the host Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, IL), 17-0 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Pioneers (16-3) will now prepare for their bout against Vienna (Vienna, IL). The Eagles go into the Black Diamond West bout with a 7-12 record. In their last bout, Vienna was routed by Zeigler-Royalton (Zeigler, IL), 7-4, in a league bout.
The Yellowjackets now possess a 5-11 record. They play next when they travel to Sparta for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi bout on Tuesday, May 3. Chester will confront a Bulldogs squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Okawville (Okawville, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-8.
